Wander back in time into a remote cove in Russell County, Virginia, where farming families lived in harmony with one another in the early part of the 20th century. In this poignant memoir, Rev. Carter recalls the joys and sorrows of his community as they faced the challenges of a changing economy driven by the timber and coal industries.

The memoir includes stories and photographs of the Carters, Kisers, Amburgeys, Powers, and other families from that area.
