My husband,
Rees, and I lived on Mudlick Creek Farm for twelve years. This farm is
tucked into a cove on the south
slope of Clinch Mountain near Hayters Gap in Washington
County, Virginia. When we weren't working, we were often roaming the
mountain's folds and peaks.
After our son, Daniel, was born in 1982, we left the farm to
become a part of community life in Emory, a few miles south.
I named my publishing company Clinch Mountain Press in recognition
of this towering range which we continue to explore. Visit this photo
